INTRODUCING MADS
Ocean scientist x Storyteller
British scientist Mads St Clair is a tropical marine biologist, divemaster, conservation photographer-filmmaker and expedition leader. As the current Storyteller in Residence for Oceanographic Magazine, she is documenting vital ocean narratives from the disappearing glaciers of Arctic Greenland to the blue whales of the Indo-Pacific. Her research interests in how man-made stressors are affecting the ocean have taken her across the globe, from bioacoustics research on coral reefs to the impacts of tourism on manta rays. Founder of Women in Ocean Science, she is a fierce advocate for gender equity and works to elevate female voices in the ocean space. Find out more.
