Photojournalism

Mads is a conservation photographer and photojournalist specialising in ocean, wildlife and environmental storytelling. A scientist by training, she has always loved the written word and the power of pairing words with imagery to tell stories that go beyond the frame. As Oceanographic Magazine’s 2024–2025 Storyteller in Residence, she documented stories from coral reefs to the polar regions, working above and beneath the surface to explore the relationship between people, wildlife and our changing planet. Combining a background in marine science with extensive field experience, Mads creates intimate, story-led imagery that brings audiences closer to the natural world and the people working to protect it.
